What does Network Operations Center (NOC) mean?

Network Operation Center (NOC) also known as a "network management center", is a central location from which network administrators manage, control and monitor one or more networks. The overall function is to maintain optimal network operations across a variety of platforms, mediums and communications channels. The center carries out round-the-clock monitoring and network management, reduces incident rate, ensures high infrastructure performance, increasing the efficiency of service delivery while reducing risks and operating costs.
